People join together to show their disgust

-

DONALD Trump’s journey to the land of his forefathers is certain to be ruined by thousands of restless natives.

Protests take place all weekend up and down Scotland, with the centrepiece beginning at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh at noon tomorrow and ending at The Meadows.

The Scotland United Against Trump movement also binds protesters at events in Glasgow, Dundee and Aberdeenshire, with a sharp focus on his Balmenie golf course, where he may play a round of golf.

The giant Trump baby balloon is also looking likely to oversee events.

Police last night said it will not be allowed to fly over Turnberry golf course due to airspace restrictions but the balloon’s owners said it could make several appearances in Scotland.

Today sees a major event in Glasgow’s George Square, where Scotland Against Trump have organised an “occupation”, scheduled to run from 5pm to 8pm, with speeches, music and games including “toss the welly at Trump”.

A protest takes place in Dundee’s City Square from 5pm to 6.30pm that will mirror Glasgow’s event.

Also happening at 5.30pm today is a demo in Dumfries organised by the Scottish Green Party, gathering at the Robert Burns statue.

It hasn’t yet been confirmed where Trump will play golf but a rally has been organised for 11am tomorrow by the Aberdeen Trade Union Congress for the Trump International Links at Balmedie, just up the coast from the city.

A parallel, weekend-long “line in the sand” demonstration will be held on a beach close to Trump’s golf course on the Menie Estate, in Aberdeenshire.

Due to tides, three mini events will take place at 9am and 6pm on Saturday and 10am on Sunday. Protestors will meet at the car park at Balmedie Country Estate.
