They’re going.. but won’t be forgotten

Still Game will be missed by millions of fans, so we took to the streets to ask some comedy connoisseurs how they feel about it ending

Pensioner Jeanette Hamilton, 76, from Glasgow, said: “I went to watch them at the SEC, enjoyed that love the comedy and the good laugh you get. I like the wee man that works in the grocers, Navid.

If people like it, they should continue it. But if it is ending, it won’t worry me.”

Matthew Martins, a 33-year-old chef from East Kilbride, said: “I came to Scotland 10 years ago and it was one of the first TV programmes I watched and have loved it ever since.

“It’s the kind of thing I’d like to do when I’m older, I like the mischievious stuff they get up to, completely funny, and like real life.”

Sales worker Aimee Menzies, 19, from Glasgow, said: “It’s funny, it makes you laugh and I really enjoy watching it. I’d cry if it ended.

“We grew up watching it with our family.

“I can’t imagine there being no Still Game.”

Recruitment consultant William Small, 35, from Motherwell, said: “I’ve been a fan since it started, it’s funny. You can relate to the characters, everyone knows characters like them, I love it.

“I didn’t think that last season every episode was an absolute stormer, every season up to that, you could watch on demand on Netflix and its fantastic.”

Civil servant Marion O’Boyle, 57, from Paisley, said: “I’ve always been a fan and I love the humour. I really like Jack, he’s a great character and I love his dry sense of humour.

“The fact they do six episodes a year keeps us all interested. If it does come to an end, I’d be disappointed but I’ll just accept it.”

Industrial cleaner Andy Wilson, 57, from Glasgow, said: “I love everything about it, the banter is so funny, got the box sets. I can’t wait till the new series comes out.

“I think they need to get better storylines, funnier storylines, and get back to the way they used to write them. That would make it a lot better.”
