Specsavers urge people to get their vision and hearing checked out
SPECSAVERS Opticians and Audiologists is championing the importance of caring for your senses by encouraging people to prioritise eyesight and hearing health this summer. DON’T forget that Specsavers also has a team of hearing specialists on hand to offer advice and conduct hearing examinations.
Ryan Forbes, a director at Specsavers Audiologists, says: “There are still lots of Scots who don’t realise we offer comprehensive hearing examinations as well as eye tests.
“Our hearing professionals can answer any hearing related questions, give advice on our excellent range of hearing aids and offer services such as ear wax removal.
“When it comes to hearing, people tend to put off visiting an audiologist, but don’t struggle and let the world pass you by – get in touch to book an appointment.”
He also gave his own top summer tips, reminding swimmers to take care of their ears if they take the plunge.
Ryan explains: “When it comes to your hearing, watch out for swimmer’s ear, an inflammation of the external ear canal that can often lead to an infection. It occurs when water becomes trapped in the ear, most often as a result of swimming.
“To avoid the condition, you should dry your ears thoroughly, or consider wearing ear plugs when swimming to avoid the risk of trapped water in your ears.”
