I feared I was going to die after my bum lift op went wrong
Lotto winner Jane tells of horror as British girl dies after same surgery
EUROMILLIONS winner Jane Park has spoken out about her horrific bum lift which left her fearing for her life as sepsis set in.
Jane, who won £1million in the lottery at just 17, said she was tempted by the procedure after seeing celebrities boasting about their derrieres.
She opened up on the subject after the death of British beautician Leah Cambridge, who died after the £3000 procedure in Turkey.
Jane told This Morning’s Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford about how she woke up swollen all over, before infection set in which left her fighting for her life.
She said: “When I woke up from surgery, I was very cold and sore and was told, ‘You will come round a bit.’ But when I managed to get up, I was truly swollen from head to toe. I could barely open my eyes, I couldn’t look in the mirror.
“I literally thought that I was going to die. I don’t know what was wrong with me and they said to me I’d had a reaction to the anaesthetic.”
She said: “I know that when you go under general anaesthetic there’s a chance things can go wrong but I was under the impression someone was closely monitoring me … so that if there were signs of any infection something would be done.
“So when I was in Turkey, the aftercare generally wasn’t good at all. I was crying and in a lot of pain, but I was just told, ‘You’ve paid for the surgery.’”
On Jane’s return home, she ended up in hospital with suspected sepsis after her legs became infected.
She warned viewers not to follow in celebrity footsteps by getting the Brazilian bum lift done. An expert on the show, consultant surgeon Gerard Lambe, said it has the highest rate of death of all cosmetic procedures – one in 3000.
Jane also warned that if people were thinking of getting the op, they should research it fully first.
