Levein: I’ll be fit and Well for Fir Park clash

-

HEARTS boss Craig Levein has revealed he plans to be back in the dugout for the clash with Motherwell on September 15.

The Tynecastle manager took to Twitter to thank fans and clubs from around the country for their support in the wake of the health scare that will see him miss tomorrow’s match against St Mirren.

Levein said: “I’d like everyone to know I’m feeling great and aiming to be back in the dugout for the Motherwell match, all being well.”

Hearts assistant boss Austin MacPhee revealed Levein has been on the phone every day to his coaching staff.

He said: “Is it his intention to return to football? Yes, you could have let him out of there on Monday afternoon and he would have been here.

“I don’t know if there was a lock on the door. He is doing well and is in good spirits and I’m sure he’ll be back soon.

“Craig will pick the team for Saturday. We’ll have a conversation but he’ll make the decisions.

“I don’t know how long his recovery will last. I know he’s recovering quickly and is recovering well and he’s home.”

Meanwhile, MacPhee hailed the arrival of Craig Wighton from Dundee.

The striker has penned a three-year deal and MacPhee reckons he’s the latest in a long line of promising Scots talent.

He said: “We’d love to develop him and watch him go on to great things, John Souttar is the example of that pathway.

“There’s a lot of talented players in Scotland at the minute, look at how Hibs did with John McGinn. Lewis Morgan going to Celtic is another example and then there’s Kenny McLean going to Aberdeen and kicking on.”
