Jose will go toe to toe with his old foe Ronaldo
BY DAVID ANDERSON JOSE MOURINHO has found himself on another collision course – this time with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Manchester United and their former star, now at Juventus, were thrown together in the Champions League draw yesterday, with Valencia and Swiss side Young Boys also in Group H.
The footballing giants have had an uneasy relationship, despite both being Portuguese and sharing agent Jorge Mendes.
They clashed when Mourinho was his manager at Real Madrid and he took another pot shot recently by claiming the striker’s Brazilian namesake was “the best Ronaldo ever”.
Last year’s runners-up Liverpool were handed a tough draw, landing PSG, Napoli and Red Star Belgrade.
However, Anfield boss Jurgen Klopp insisted they can’t be frightened.
He said: “If you think it is too difficult, you are already out. We don’t think that way.”
Spurs had it even harder, getting drawn with Barcelona, Inter Milan and PSV Eindhoven.
But striker Harry Kane said: “It’s a brilliant draw, games at famous stadiums like the Nou Camp, the San Siro. It’s one to relish.”
Manchester City have the easiest section for English clubs, drawing Shakhtar, Lyon and Hoffenheim.
