difficult times and he encouraged and helped others to do the same. “Gary had made a lot of progress recently and I was proud of the way he focused on his training and building up his fitness classes at his gym. “I was at one of his yoga classes on Tuesday night not knowing that the next time I’d see him he would be dying in my arms. If you know anything please, please tell the police.” Emergency services raced to Gary’s home in Gartness Drive last Thursday night. His neighbour described hearing several gunshots before he spotted Gary on the ground.
Police said the gunman got back into a white Skoda Fabia. It was last seen driving off towards Bowhouse Brae Road.
The car had been stolen from Pollokshields, Glasgow, last month. A Skoda Fabia was later found burned out in Milngavie, near Glasgow.
Motorists who may have seen it between 7pm and 11pm last Thursday were asked to come forward.
Detectives also said that children and other innocent members of the public could have been caught up in the shooting, as a number of stray bullets were also discharged by the gunman.
DS Burton said: “A team of highly experienced detectives continue to work on this inquiry.
“We are doing everything we can to trace whoever is responsible.
“We would appreciate any assistance the public can provide, as even the smallest piece of information could be vital to this murder investigation.
“It may be that people are reluctant to come forward. I would like to reassure people that information can be given in confidence and you can also contact Crimestoppers where you can remain anonymous.”
