Sister makes desperate plea to catch his killer
BY GRAHAM MILLER THE distraught sister of a murdered father of two broke down yesterday as she told how she watched her brother dying in her arms.
Gary More was gunned down in a targeted shooting outside his home in Airdrie a week ago.
The hitman stepped out of a stolen car before blasting the gym boss several times as he stood in his front garden.
Gary, 32, had been chatting to a friend, who escaped without injury but has been left traumatised.
In the days after the shooting, the Record revealed that Gary had been a debt collector for drug dealers.
Yesterday, following a “very poor” public response to police appeals for information, Gary’s older sister Lynsey asked anyone with information to help catch his killer.
Appearing at Motherwell police station with Detective Superintendent Allan Burton, who is heading the investigation, Lynsey broke down in tears as she told how her brother died in her arms in hospital.
She added: “It’s hard to find the words to describe the devastation we have experienced as a family losing Gary.
“He was a son, brother, father and uncle. Life for us will never be the same again without Gary in it.
“He was my wee brother and as a big sister I always felt it was my job to look after him.”
Lynsey revealed that her brother had battled problems in the past.
She added: “Addiction touches so many families and ours was no different.
“Gary was dealing with his own issues but he was trying to help other people at the same time.
