Sutty: The 3 Stooges are no joke
CHRIS SUTTON last night branded the SFA judicial panel the Three Stooges of Scottish football.
The Record Sport columnist has been stunned at a series of decisions from the new-look disciplinary board after Steve Clarke and Derek McInnes both took aim at the process.
Kilmarnock gaffer Clarke copped a ban for slamming the panel after rejecting Gary Dicker’s red card appeal while Aberdeen manager McInnes called the unnamed group of three ex-refs incompetent. BT Sport pundit Sutton
insists the set-up is not fit for purpose and the protocol should be binned as former whistlers judging their colleagues can’t be classed as independent.
He said: “You would think the three-man panel – or the Three Stooges – would have looked at the incidents more logically.
“Everyone around the country has been baffled by their decisions.
“They have made some extremely poor decisions so you can understand the managers feeling frustrated. It’s not a conspiracy or corruption – it’s pure incompetence.
“It’s clear they are not fit for purpose because there have been so many strange decisions. The fact they are former refs looks like they are looking after their own. They should be sacked.”
