HAMILTON v ST MIRREN Hampden roar is aim for Hendo LEAGUE TWO

-

BLAIR HENDERSON faces a race against time to fulfil a boyhood ambition of scoring at Hampden – and the Edinburgh City striker would love to achieve it this afternoon.

The in-form hitman faces Queen’s Park at the National Stadium knowing the Spiders will move to Lesser Hampden after 2020.

Henderson said: “I might not get many more opportunities before Queen’s Park leave there.

“I am in good form with 11 goals in 12 games but I have just started off where I finished last season. I was with Annan and ended with five goals in two games.”

But Henderson stresses his goals are only part of leaders Citizens’ early success and added: “Our tight defence is as good as a goal in a game and long may that continue as well.”

Queen’s Park begin life after losing manager Gus MacPherson and skipper Scott Gibson is determined no one will be feeling down.

Gibson said: “It was a big disappointment to lose the gaffer to St Mirren as he did well for the club and players.

“We can’t feel sorry for ourselves. Edinburgh City have started well and we must put in a performance.”
