“I believe more could have been done by social services to keep my girls safe.”

The mother of the little boy at the centre of the 2012 allegation declined to comment on the case.

A spokesman for Midlothian Council said: “We cannot comment on individual cases. All such allegations are investigated fully following nationally established child protection procedures by the council’s social work service in consultation with the police and health services.”

Dillon, who turned 18 last month, abused both girls at addresses in Dalkeith, East Lothian, where he lives.

He raped and abused one of them on various occasions between October 2014 and October 2016 and subjected her sister to two assaults between September 2014 and September 2016.

Dillon denied any wrongdoing but was found guilty by a jury at the High Court in Livingston last month.

He was sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh by judge Lord Summers.

The girls’ mum was outraged at the sentence. She said: “I was praying for double figures but would have accepted five. He’ll be out in no time and getting on with his life, yet we will have to live with this forever. This is not justice.”

Dillon represents the famous Mayfield Mob stock car racing team with his father, also James.

The pair are known for driving limousines and hearses at events around the UK.
