Digger gang ram raid shop to steal ATM
Village newsagents hit in the night
RAM raiders have used a digger to steal a cash machine from a village newsagents.
Police were called at 4.10am yesterday after the ATM was pulled from the wall of the shop.
Yesterday, Main Street in Forth remained taped off and diversions were in place as the safety of the building was assessed.
The digger used in the raid was still outside the newsagents yesterday, after the thieves fled with the cash machine. A police spokesman said: “A digger was left at the scene, and the culprits left in a car.
“There was damaged caused to the building as a result, and the street is currently taped off.
“Building control officers are in attendance to assess the damage, and traffic diversions are in place.
“Officers are carrying out inquiries.”
