Rebels kill 15 in Ebola hotspot
FIFTEEN civilians have been killed and 12 children abducted by rebels at the centre of an Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The Allied Democratic Forces attacked army positions and several neighbourhoods of Beni over the weekend.
Last month, Ebola outbreak containment efforts had to be suspended for days in Beni after a rebel attack, complicating work to find and track suspected contacts of infected people.
Since then, the rate of new cases in Beni has more than doubled.
Confirmed Ebola cases have now reached 200, including 117 deaths.
