McINNES: FERGUSON PAID THE

DEREK McINNES reckons Lewis Ferguson was the victim of an incorrect penalty call which left Aberdeen with too much to do at Tynecastle.

The Dons boss felt the teen midfielder was harshly punished when referee Kevin Clancy spotted a handball in the box against Hearts.

McInnes insists Ferguson slipped into Steven Naismith who slotted in from the spot to leave the Reds 2-0 down at half-time.

The Aberdeen manager was also annoyed at his team’s first-half showing and concession of a simple opener by Arnaud Djoum.

But the official’s call was crucial and McInnes is convinced Clancy made the wrong shout.

McInnes said: “The first goal we have to stop the cross. We have a spare man at the edge of the box and it’s far too easy for that ball to come in.
