MARCO SILVA hailed his subs who won the points in the final three minutes.

It took the Toffees 87 minutes to break through when Dominic CalvertLewin headed in Ademola Lookman’s five minutes after both had been sent on.

Another sub Cenk Tosun added an 89th-minute strike to clinch the points.

Silva said: Sometimes you change and everything goes well – other times not. We changed the formation when we brought on Dominic and they did well. I’m happy because the three came in and helped.”

England keeper Jordan Pickford had kept the scores level when he saved Luka Milivojevic’s penalty.

Gutted Palace boss Roy Hodgson said: “When we had the penalty chance the miss lifted the crowd and it gave them fresh impetus.”
