MPs in bid to block Robinson
SCOTS MPs are among 50 leading politicians urging the US administration to ban far-right activist Tommy Robinson from entering the country.
The group have “grave concerns” at plans to let in the former English Defence League leader.
He has been invited to speak in Washington DC on November 14.
The group said the visit is “to promote his violent and extremist agenda”.
The letter, addressed to Donald Trump’s secretary of state, Mike Pompeo, is signed by two Scottish MPs, Labour’s Martin Whitfield and the SNP’s Martyn Day.
Robinson gained a high profile in the US after rightwing websites took up his cause when he was jailed for contempt of court, a sentenced later quashed.
