Man appears in court over murder bid

A MAN has appeared in court in connection with an alleged murder attempt.

Peter Cameron appeared in private at Edinburgh Sheriff Court accused of two counts of attempted murder and one charge of assault to severe injury in the capital’s Grassmarket.

Cameron, 38, made no plea and he was remanded in custody yesterday.

The case was continued for further examination and Cameron, of no fixed abode, will appear back in court within eight days.

The alleged incident on November 8 saw three people – including a 60-year-old woman – taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.
