Trump: Mass killer was a ‘sick puppy’
BY RECORD REPORTER PRESIDENT Donald Trump yesterday called the gunman who killed 12 people in a California bar “a very sick puppy”.
He said Ian David Long, who opened fire at the Borderline bar in Thousand Oaks on Wednesday, had “lots of problems”.
Neighbours reported hearing rows between Long and his mother, including one in April that led to police being called.
He was then seen by a mental health specialist who worried the 28-year-old Afghan war veteran might have posttraumatic stress disorder.
Long killed himself as police officers closed in.
Trump refused to answer questions on gun control laws but highlighted his own efforts to fund work on PTSD among veterans.
