Veterans’ Long Walk Home ends in X Factor studio
THE X Factor has invited a group of war veterans to attend tomorrow’s show “as a mark of respect and to honour Remembrance Sunday”.
The invitees are among 100 soldiers and veterans who are walking 100 miles from Ypres to the Cenotaph in Whitehall in an event called The Long Walk Home. The march, organised by military charity the Haig Housing Trust, finishes tomorrow.
Singer Sinitta, an ambassador for the charity, said: “It was important there was something special to mark the end of the walk and Remembrance Sunday, so I rang Simon up.”
Brigadier James Richardson, chief executive of Haig Housing Trust, said: “I would like to thank Simon Cowell, Sinitta and everyone at The X Factor for inviting some of our veterans to come to the show and highlight The Long Walk
Home.”
