Review over hospital site

AN INDEPENDENT review is to be held into the future of one of Scotland’s biggest hospitals.

NHS Lanarkshire aim to either refurbish Monklands Hospital or replace it with a new facility at Gartcosh.

Campaigners have called for any new hospital to be built on the Monklands site.

Health Secretary Jeane Freeman has ordered a review after being asked to step in by MP Neil Gray and MSP Alex Neil.
