Every Saturday we will pick the best letter received during the week and award a £50 prize. This week’s winner is Brian Kelly, from Dunfermline. the interests of veterans and widows.

His funeral in 1928 was attended by huge, appreciative crowds and the proud Scot was buried at Dryburgh Abbey in the Borders.
