Twell’s set to hit road

STEPH TWELL plans to make her marathon debut in Valencia next month.

The two-time Olympian, 29, will hit the road in Spain on December 2 as she moves up from the track.

And the Scot admits it could give her a new option by the time Tokyo 2020 rolls around.

Twell, currently training at altitude in Arizona, said: “At this stage of my career it just feels right to step up and challenge myself over the marathon distance. I’ve always had ambitions to see how I fare.”
