ROSS COUNTY v DUNDEE UTD

DRAPES IS NO LONGER DOWN

-

ROSS DRAPER is finally enjoying his football again after two years of relegation hell.

The Ross County midfielder crossed the Highland derby divide in August last year after a miserable last full season with Caley Thistle.

There was hope of better days in Dingwall after the Inverness club’s tumble from the Premiership under Richie Foran’s management but repeat disaster struck after Owen Coyle’s troubled spell in charge.

Now though, the 30-year-old is loving his game. County sit second in the Championship promotion race ahead of their clash with Dundee United and Draper said: “I hadn’t enjoyed football for two years before this season. This year, we’ve had the other side of the coin.”

United’s William Edjenguele admits he was fortunate to find a way back into the team last week.

The Frenchman found himself being called upon by boss Robbie Neilson when Belgian team-mate Fred Frans injured himself in the warm-up prior to their 2-0 win over Queen of the South at Tannadice.

But the centre-half said: “It was unfortunate for Fred. However, it gave me my big chance.”
