Fifers will get over bump with derby win
LEAGUE ONE SCOTT AGNEW reckons East Fife will prove their back-to-back defeats were just a blip by winning the derby with Raith Rovers.
The midfielder insists confidence is still riding high within the Methil camp after their blistering early-season form.
Agnew was the goal hero in their 2-2 draw with Raith in August and hopes to go one better when Rovers come calling today.
He said: “We’re looking forward to the Raith game as we had won eight games in a row before this bump.
“We still have confidence in the bank from that run. I scored our two goals in our last game and another couple would be terrific – but in a win this time.”
While the home side are desperate for a win, Rovers striker Liam Buchanan believes the secret to derby glory is keeping a cool head having played for all four Fife teams.
He said: “They are always fiercely competitive games. It’ll be passionate but you need to keep a clear head to do anything positive.
“East Fife had been doing well until recently. It is good to be going into this game after our win over Brechin.”
