But despite the victory, they still sit third in Group B, with two matches remaining. So what are the permutations that would see Celtic qualify?

November 29: Red Bull Salzburg v RB Leipzig, Rosenborg v Celtic.

Celtic must beat Rosenborg in Trondheim. And if Salzburg beat Leipzig to gain their second win over their Red Bull pals, while Celtic get the better of Rosenborg, those results would keep the Austrians on top with 15 points while Rodgers’ side move second with nine. Qualification is in Celtic’s hands.

December 13: Celtic v Red Bull Salzburg, RB Leipzig v Rosenborg.

If the above scenario was played out, Celtic would need only a point at home to Salzburg to nail down second place and a slot in the last 32.
