“Inspired as ever by the courage, spirit and sacrifice of firefighters. Thank you Los Angeles Fire Department.

“If you can, support these brave men and women at SupportLAFD.org .”

Fans of the Den of Thieves and 300 actor were quick to offer their words of encouragement online.

Nathan Davies said: “You sir are a true inspiration. Loses his house, yet his main concern and objective is to support those who risked their lives to save it.”

Singer Robin Thicke was also burned out of his home in Malibu. Other stars who have seen their homes at risk include Lady Gaga and Kim Kardashian.

Firefighters were yesterday still unable to contain three fires which have engulfed an area of more than 200 square miles.

With many of the 25 killed in the wildfires so badly burnt, DNA teams have been sent in to help identify them.

Sheriff Kory Honea said 14 bodies were recovered on Saturday, adding to the nine the blaze had already claimed. Most were found in the town of Paradise.

Resident Rex Stewart said: “Paradise is gone. There’s nothing to go back to.”

Two bodies were found badly burned in a vehicle on a driveway in southern California. Honea said: “In some cases, the only remains we are able to recover are bones or bone fragments.” At least 110 people are missing. President Donald Trump issued condolences to the victims, adding: “The destruction is catastrophic.”
