Way to league summit against Livi’s lions

WE’LL STAY AT THE TOP - BAIN

whipped a cross to the back post. Pittman barged his way through the crowd and it took a frantic block from Kris Ajer before Steve Lawson blasted the loose ball wide.

The air-raid sirens were sounding again soon after as Celts survived another huge scare.

Lithgow loaded up the catapult from the side of the pitch and his long throw had Dedryck Boyata scrambling and Bain flapping.

The keeper managed to just about shove the ball out from under his bar and Halkett was smothered before he could stick it in the net.

Livingston’s relentless workrate and determination were paying off at both ends. A superb slaloming run from Sinclair sent the wideman tearing through on goal.

But Jacobs appeared out of nowhere to make a sensational last-gasp lunge to halt the charge.

Rodgers chucked on Lewis Morgan for the tiring Forrest and the kid cut inside to take a couple of quick pops at the Livi keeper’s near post.

Kelly wasn’t going to be caught out though. He managed to bail out big Gallagher soon after when the defender nearly blootered Odsonne Edouard’s cutback into his own net.

The Hoops desperately banged on the door late on, with Ajer forced off with a broken eye socket after a clash of heads in Livi’s box.

Kelly superbly diverted Rogic’s effort over and Boyata nodded one wide as Holt’s men hung on.

The champs went on the charge late on but they could have played until the lights went out and Livingston would still be throwing bodies on the line to preserve their clean sheet. SEE PAGES 44&45
