Lapland? It’s not real place

-

NEARLY a third of us think Lapland is a fictional place, a poll has found.

Just 22 per cent of 2000 adults know that Lapland is in northern Finland and parts of Norway, Sweden and Russia.

One in 10 had to check online to find out whether it existed, while a similar number believe the “home of Santa” covers only Iceland and Greenland.

A fifth think it is a country in its own right, according to the poll by travel company TUI. TRAVELLING Grace Millane ENQUIRIES Police car at CityLife hotel WORRIED Dad yesterday
