Protest fears close Eiffel

THE Eiffel Tower will be closed today as French authorities tighten security after three weeks of violent anti-government protests.

In addition to 8000 officers who will be deployed, 14 high-risk sectors will be cleared out.

Police will remove glass containers, railings and building machines in the areas, which include the Champs-Elysees.
