Helping Bairns survive is a Pet project for me now

-

DEIMANTAS PETRAVICIUS bagged his first goal for Lithuania with a spectacular overhead kick last month – and he is now desperate to help Falkirk take off.

Petravicius got an international recall following his close-season move to the Bairns, who climbed off the bottom of the table with a last-gasp win over Inverness Caley last weekend.

They will leapfrog Alloa into eighth if they can win today and Petravicius said: “Falkirk have given me a lot of confidence so when I went to the national team I had a bit more confidence.

“After last weekend everyone was so happy. We want to keep the momentum going.

“We’ve climbed off the bottom of the league and now we just want more points and I hope we can go even higher. The Inverness win has motivated everyone to go and win the next one.

“We will keep doing our best and keep working hard. Against Alloa we’ll do everything we can to keep climbing the table.”

Alloa boss Jim Goodwin knows his side have their work cut out against the born-again Bairns.

But he has urged the Wasps to open up a three-point gap over them.

He said: “Falkirk will have taken a lot of confidence from their win, becoming the only team to beat Inverness in the league this season.

“They have had a couple of good wins in the last four weeks or so and it just shows you the importance of winning games.

“It’s all very well picking up a point here and there but three points can make such a difference.

“Falkirk will be the favourites but we will go there believing we can win the game.”
