Mikaeel’s mother gets to work in shop dur­ing day

MIKAEEL Ku­lar’s killer mum has been al­lowed out of prison to do work ex­pe­ri­ence – only four years af­ter be­ing jailed.

Ros­deep Adekoya is be­lieved to have been work­ing in a shop un­der a scheme at Corn­ton Vale.

The ex­act terms of her in­terim re­lease are not known but the 38-year-old has been seen in the Stir­ling area be­fore re­turn­ing to prison.

She is just un­der five years into the 11-year sen­tence she re­ceived for killing Mikaeel.

Adekoya beat the three­year-old to death over four days in Jan­uary 2014 af­ter he was sick fol­low­ing a meal. He had 40 in­juries on his body.

Adekoya, who has four other chil­dren, hid his re­mains in a suit­case be­hind her sis­ter’s house in Kirk­caldy.

Hun­dreds of po­lice and lo­cals searched for Mikaeel af­ter she claimed he had van­ished from home in Ed­in­burgh. Adekoya was con­victed of cul­pa­ble homi­cide af­ter claim­ing she didn’t mean to kill her son.

A source said: “Rel­a­tives of this wee boy will be out­raged to know she has this kind of free­dom.”

The Scot­tish Prison Ser­vice would not com­ment.
