TV Watership Down will end in tears
ACTOR Nicholas Hoult says the ending of the new Watership Down festive TV movie is a real tearjerker.
Hoult, 29, is among the voice cast for the BBC/ Netflix adaptation of Richard Adams’ bestselling novel about a group of rabbits searching for a new home.
He said: “The director and I both cried when we were doing the last scene.
“We were both hugging as we were crying. I did the take probably 450 times and cried every time. I defy anyone not to cry.”
Scots actor James McAvoy, who voices Hazel, said he is such a huge fan of the book he was wearing a Watership Down T-shirt when he heard he had landed the part.
It will air as two featurelength episodes on BBC One on December 22 and 23.
