Recalling the Glasgow gig, Hook said: “It was very important for us because Buzzcocks gave us the chance and impetus to give up our jobs and go full time.” Hook was shocked by Shelley’s death, aged 63, from a heart attack at his home in Estonia. He said: “I played with Pete and the Buzzcocks two months ago. Pete was in fine form. “He was really happy and really enjoying what he was doing. It was great to see him because they have had as many ups and downs and as many problems as we have had as New Order. “So it was nice to see he was finally enjoying himself again and where he should be, playing great songs to an audience.”
