Holy smoke – what next?

- Margaret Ritchie

THE Thistle Shopping Centre in Stirling are not allowing a nativity scene to be put up, saying they take a “religious and politically neutral” stance and don’t think it’s right “to host this type of promotion”.

Bosses at the centre should be ashamed. I have never known anyone to be offended by the nativity scene. I am proud to live in a country where all beliefs, including Christianity, can be openly practised and those who do so don’t have to face persecution. What next, no decorations and no presents?
