DANCER LAUREN DIES IN CAR CRASH HORROR

Pals pay tribute to ‘caring’ teenager after road tragedy

-

HEARTBROKEN pals paid tribute yesterday to a talented dancer killed in a horror crash in the Highlands.

Lauren Jayde Miller, 18, died when her Citroen DS3 collided with a Peugeot 207, hit a bridge parapet and plunged down a slope into a field.

The tragedy happened at 8.30pm on Monday on the A882 at Bridge of Milton on the outskirts of Wick.

Lauren, who was a carer, had been on her way to Wick from her BY CHARLIE GALL c.gall@dailyrecord.co.uk home in Thurso when the crash happened.

She was a popular member of Thurso’s Edge Dance Studio, which was founded by her father Willie.

Lauren and sister Rebecca, 20, won an array of street-dancing trophies as members of the troupe and competed at national level. She worked for Thursobased Key Housing and helped chaperone a disabled group to the Christmas pantomime in Inverness at the weekend.

Caithness civic leader, Highland councillor Willie Mackay, was with the group who went to the Eden Court Theatre.

He said: “It was obvious that she was very caring and dedicated to her job. This is something we don’t want to happen any time but with Christmas approaching, it’s even more tragic.”

Several of Lauren’s friends took to social media to pay tribute.

Danielle Blackwood posted: “Absolutely heartbroken, one of the best girls I’ve ever come across.

“You really have no clue what is around the corner. Rest easy beautiful girl.”
