FROM BACK PAGE tickets for the away sections of the stadium, including 400 for the main stand.

But around double that number have managed to secure briefs for the home ends of the ground despite the match being a 24,000 sellout.

However, Rapid are taking a positive view of the travelling support from Glasgow and want fans to be involved in a festival of football.

And the Viennese club have stressed they have no fears about any trouble.

Rapid spokesman Andreas Marek, who is responsible for tickets and marketing, said: “We have had two security meetings with Rangers and the Vienna police.

“Rangers have told us they expect around 8000 fans to travel but our information is that 10,000 Scottish supporters will be in Vienna.

“We expect a big party from both sets of fans and a terrific atmosphere. Every pub in Vienna will be sold out.

“Our message to Rangers fans is not to turn up to the stadium and try to get a ticket.

“The black market they know in the UK does not exist in Austria.

“We are well aware Rangers supporters have bought tickets for stands around the stadium.

“So we have made spaces beside the away section for them to sit together and there will be no problem hopefully.

“There is no fear of any trouble but of course it is a big challenge for us.

“Everyone here and in the city is looking forward to an awesome party and a good match.”

Rangers have urged ticketless fans to stay in Vienna city centre and resist the temptation to head for the stadium.

A statement on the club website said: “For those attending Vienna without tickets, we would encourage all supporters to enjoy the city, take in the sights and continue to represent Rangers Football Club in the best way possible.

“If you do not have an official ticket for the game, please do not go to the Allianz Stadium as there are no tickets available.

“We would encourage supporters to follow local authority advice and enjoy the areas such as Schwedenplatz which have many bars and restaurants where you can watch the game and enjoy the company of your fellow supporters.

“We hope all Rangers supporters have a fantastic and safe trip.”
