Kelly: We’ll repay Lions staff with stellar run-in

-

LIAM KELLY insists Livingston players are desperate to repay staff behind the scenes for an incredible journey that’s taken the club from Peterhead to Portugal.

The Livi keeper has enjoyed this week’s winter training camp in the Algarve, exactly two years after turning out for the club in a League One game at Balmoor stadium during his loan spell.

Following successive promotions, the West Lothian side have maintained their momentum in the Premiership after climbing to seventh before the turn of the year.

And Kelly insists the team are keen to finish with a flurry to reward the club officials who have worked hard to give the side the chance to flourish in the top flight.

He said: “I didn’t think two BY ALAN MARSHALL years ago when I was here we’d be doing something like this.

“It shows how far the club have come and how hard people have worked to get us here.

“We’re grateful for that and we’re very thankful for the work people have put in. And we’re hoping to repay them with a good second half to the season.

“It’s been great to be back among the boys this week. It’s good to be back and enjoying training again.

“We’ve got a few very important games coming up, including the Scottish Cup match against Hearts and league games against St Johnstone and Rangers, so it’s important we get preparation in for that and make sure we’re 100 per cent ready.”
