Fight for rights

Daily Record - - NEWS -

THE two-minute comfort break rule at Virgin Media’s Scottish call centre is outrageous and shameful.

It may seem funny at first but it is an insight into the times we live in and the kind of shenanigans we can expect from companies in a post-Brexit Britain.

The treatment of staff in drudge jobs, with wages and conditions squeezed like a sponge, tells us all we need to know about the so-called jobs miracle that followed the economic crash.

Uncertainty and lack of investment has brought low-skilled work and depressed wages, which in real terms are no better now than they were a decade ago.

At least the CWU trade union are active and fighting against the ridiculous impositions on the workforce.
