Foula’s late Hogmanay

ONE of Britain’s remotest islands is finally celebrating new year today.

Foula follows the Julian not the Gregorian calendar, meaning Christmas and new year are nearly two weeks later. About 30 people live on the island, 100 miles off Scotland.
