JEREMY GOES NATIVE

- BY GARRY OWEN

NATIVE ROBIN (3:25) can wing it for Jeremy Scott in the Racing Welfare Handicap Chase at Fontwell.

The nine-year-old has been in cracking form, winning comfortably at Fakenham last month before chasing home The King’s Writ at Exeter.

A 1lb higher mark is unlikely to anchor this consistent gelding in his current mood and he has gone well at this quirky venue in the past.

Gary Moore can enjoy his obligatory winner at the Sussex gaff thanks to NOT NEVER (1:20). The gelding found the Betfair Trophy at Ascot a step too far but was in good from previously and can resume winning ways over 2m 3f.

SO LONELY (1:55) caught the eye when eighth on her debut for Dan Skelton in a hot Newbury novice and can come on plenty for that run.

Ben Case is hitting form and MEGABOOST (2:25) is the call in a trappy staying handicap chase. The mare put in her best shift over fences when second to Burgess Dream over course and distance.

SKY FULL OF STARS (4:00) can enhance Chris Gordon’s superb course record in the lucky last. The nine-year-old ran a blinder behind Chivers over fences here and can go one better thanks to an inviting mark back over timber.

Dai Rees is flying right now and can take the opener at Ffos Las thanks to STEEL NATIVE (1:30). The eight-year-old beat Sutter’s Mill in a handicap chase here last time and can follow up switched back to hurdles by his shrewd handler.

Evan Williams likes a winner here so NO REMATCH (2:05) is worth chancing in the novice hurdle. The five-year-old was a fine second to Thor De Cerisy in a bumper here in November and can thrive over timber.

The in-form Glamorgan handler can double up courtesy of GOLDEN WHISKY (3:05). The six-year-old recorded a career best when runner-up to Stoney Mountain at Southwell and can do plenty of damage sent handicapping.

Fergal O’Brien’s QUANTUM OF SOLACE (3:40) is a confident selection in the mares’ chase.

The lightly-raced nine-yearold gave General Bux most resistance at Huntingdon last month and can build on that excellent effort today.
