36,000 AIR MILES, 9 GAMES.. AND NOT A WIN IN SIGHT

-

A FOOTBALL fan has notched up 36,000 air miles flying between Hong Kong and Scotland to support his team – but has yet to see them win a game.

Dundee supporter Gair Anderson, 28, who works as a teacher in the Far East, has managed to get back to Dens Park for nine games this season.

After attending last week’s 2-2 draw BY STEPHEN STEWART against Kilmarnock, he said: “It was my ninth and final game this season. I have not seen them win in the league at Dens but at least I saw goals the other night.

“When I came home for Christmas, I saw three games and they never scored a goal.”

Gair added: “I have been going to Dundee games since I was a wee boy living in Menzieshill. Now I work as an English teacher at a nursery school in Hong Kong.

“I try to get back as many times as I can to see Dundee play and visit family. I came over this time because it’s Chinese New Year and everybody is on holiday.

“It is 13 hours on a flight to London from Hong Kong, then an hour up to Edinburgh. I got picked up and taken up to Dundee for noon.

“I showered, had a bite to eat and it was then down to Dumfries for the Scottish Cup replay with Queen of the South – but we got beat 3-0.

Gair said: “I cannot guarantee when I’ll be back now. But if we play United in the play-off, I will make an impromptu trip.”
