1000 AMAZON ROLES

ONLINE giant Amazon will today unveil plans to create more than 1000 apprenticeship roles in the UK over the next two years. Recruits will work across Amazon’s UK corporate and operations sites, including the company’s UK head office and three development centres in Edinburgh, Cambridge and London . The sites work on Amazon’s Alexa music streaming and virtual assistant gadget, machine learning, Prime Video, its Prime Air drones and robots for its warehouses.

Doug Gurr, boss of Amazon UK, said: “It’s never too late to retrain as an apprentice and there are always opportunities to prepare for the future world of work.
