TEARFUL John Henderson sent the Aberdeen crowds wild last night with a magical display to deny Michael van Gerwen.
The Highlander produced a fabulous performance to grab a 6-6 draw against the world No.1 in the Unibet Premier League on an emotional night.
Henderson was reduced to tears as 10,000 fans roared him off the canvas from 3-0 down to pinch a point as he replaced the injured Gary Anderson in remarkable style.
Henderson said: “That was one of the greatest nights of my life. The fans were unbelievable.
“I couldn’t hear myself think it was so loud. I had to really keep my emotions in check.
“In the end I was just happy to give Michael a proper game. I played the best I possibly could and I’m happy I could give the fans something back.”
Aberdeen enjoyed double success as Scotland’s No.1 Peter Wright also triumphed.
Snakebite hammered Raymond van Barneveld with five successive legs to seal a 7-2 win over the Dutch legend.
Wright fired on home soil with an 111 average and said: “I glanced on the screen and saw I was averaging 111 and wanted to get even better.
“It’s an amazing atmosphere again in Scotland, it’s always very special for me. I really enjoyed every moment of it.
“It was tough playing Raymond for the last time in Scotland. Barney is an amazing guy and done a fantastic job for darts. I’m going to miss him.”
