HUGO READY TO FINISH JOB

MAN CITY v SPURS

-

TONIGHT, 8PM, LIVE ON BT SPORT

HUGO LLORIS insists Spurs are “ready to suffer” to see off Manchester City in the quarter-finals.

Son Heung-min ensured Spurs head to the Etihad tonight with a 1-0 lead.

But City are still the favourites to progress as their quadruple quest faces a pivotal moment.

But by keeping a clean sheet in their home leg, if Spurs can find the net in Manchester it would mean City need three goals to reach the last four.

Pep Guardiola’s men will put them under huge pressure but France keeper Lloris – who saved Sergio Aguero’s penalty last week – is prepared.

He said: “It is all about the mentality, the spirit, to have the same idea of football together.

“Then of course we are ready to suffer because we are going to suffer – but we know we can make the game difficult for them too. It is about enjoying being at this stage of the competition, being ready to compete.”

But defender John Stones is determined to halt Spurs’ momentum as City home in on their quadruple ambitions.

He said: “It is something we are all dreaming of and all want to achieve.

“The Premier League and Champions League are both so important for our history as a club.

“The Champions League is something we haven’t got and something we want.

“We are still on for the quadruple and that is the dream we are trying to achieve and are fighting every day for.

“It comes from within everyone, we have this belief and ambition to do it. I don’t think a lot of things are impossible.”
