Vunipola is not Sarrie about lousy week now

-

UPDATE BILLY VUNIPOLA insisted helping Saracens become European champs again helped erase the memories of a tough week.

Vunipola was booed by the Leinster fans at St James’ Park after declaring his support for Israel Folau’s homophobic views.

He responded by claiming the vital try as Sarries won 20-10.

Vunipola said: “I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t reading things that have been said but I am just grateful to be in this team.

“It’s not about me and what I stand for.”

Saracens hooker Jamie George added: “It’s us versus the world and that’s fine by us.

“The season that we’ve had, the amount of outside negativity that we’ve had,it just goes to show that if we stay tight as a group we can do anything,” SQUASH: Crieff’s Rory Stewart claimed his first PSA title with a dominant display in the final of the Mar Del Plata Squash Open in Argentina.

The 22-year-old took the first five points against Colombian third seed Edgar Ramirez and went on to win 11-6, 11-3, 11-8. BOWLS: Scotland’s Commonwealth triples champions Darren Burnett, Derek Oliver and Ronnie Duncan maintained their 100 per cent record at the Atlantic Rim Championships in Cardiff.

The Scots thrashed the Czech Republic 42-6 to post their fifth straight win, and they are now the only unbeaten team in Section One following Ireland’s surprise defeat to France.

Burnett said: “Conditions are tough, but we’ve been battling well.” Scotland have a triple header against Cyprus, Kenya and Zimbabwe today.
