Shinnie will have Max effect on Derby side
MAX LOWE insists he has no fears about Aberdeen pal Graeme Shinnie ramming his way into the Derby team.
On-loan defender Lowe is set for a pre-season return to Frank Lampard’s side, where he will be joined by his Pittodrie captain.
Scotland star Shinnie has signed a pre-contract and Lowe is in no doubt the 27-year-old has the quality to enhance County’s team no matter what league they are playing in.
Lowe said: “Graeme’s energy levels to get around the pitch are unbelievable.
“The Championship is a tough league. It is up here as well and it took me a while to get up to speed.
“I took a lot of confidence from Shinnie and watching him play. He’s not going to struggle and I am backing him like a lot of the lads have said.
“I don’t think it would be a surprise if he goes there and really rips it up.”
The left-back, who Derek McInnes has openly said he would love back at Pittodrie next season, has watched Shinnie carry Aberdeen at times this season.
He expects him to make a similar impact at Pride Park as he did when he came back into the side as the Dons beat Hearts on Friday night.
Lowe said: “He is going to fit in perfectly. With his performances here, he has carried us in certain games.
“The fans will appreciate him and the gaffer back at home knows his qualities. I am buzzing to see him play at Derby.
“Graeme always says things at the right time.
“We missed him in the Scottish Cup semi-final. Some of the performances haven’t been there without him. He came back in on Friday and we played some good stuff.”
