Scotland urged to review bird shooting regulations
THE Scottish Government is under pressure to copy a controversial change to bird shooting rules in England which led to TV’s Chris Packham getting death threats.
The Springwatch host faced a backlash after his campaign won greater protection for birds such as crows and pigeons south of the Border. Green MSP Mark Ruskell now wants Scottish Natural Heritage to reform the system. He is “calling for a complete review of this callous and damaging system that is failing our wildlife”.
SNH said: “We are following this case to see if there are any implications for us.”
