Judges rule EDL’s Robinson can face fresh contempt charges
HIGH Court judges gave the go-ahead yesterday for fresh contempt of court proceedings to be brought against Tommy Robinson.
The former English National Defence leader, real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, faces an allegation he committed contempt by filming people in a criminal trial and broadcasting footage on social media. Robinson, 36, from Luton, was jailed for 13 months last May for the offence.
But the contempt finding made against Robinson was quashed by the Court of Appeal in August and he was freed.
The Attorney General announced it was in the public interest to bring fresh proceedings against him.
