Abuse survivors receive payouts
THE first cash under a scheme to help survivors of childhood abuse in care who are elderly or terminally ill has been paid out. Deputy First Minister John Swinney spoke about the £10,000 advance payments three weeks ago – saying the move was a “significant milestone” in addressing “wrongs of the past”.
