Tribute to Lions legends

CELTIC have confirmed a special tribute to Lisbon Lions Billy McNeill and Stevie Chalmers will be worn at the Scottish Cup Final.

Neil Lennon’s squad will all wear both the No.5 and the No.9 on their shorts in honour of the two legends.

Both McNeill and Chalmers passed away last month and the club will pay a poignant tribute at Hampden. The Final takes place on May 25 – exactly 52 years after McNeill captained Celtic to European Cup Final victory over Inter Milan with Chalmers scoring the clincher in a 2-1 win.

Lennon’s team will also walk out wearing alternate jackets with “McNeill 5” and “Chalmers 9” on the back.
